Traditional materials for bank stabilisation

Struan and I headed to a felled wood this afternoon to bundle some brash for the riverbank restoration project we are beginning on the Girvan shortly. The aim is to use brash bundles (faggots) to cut erosion and trap fine sediments leading to improved water quality and reduced diffuse pollution. The trailer being filled with faggots We will need several trailer loads of faggots so with it being dry this afternoon, we set to making a start.
