A dead pink salmon was picked up at the Gordons Pool on the lower Findhorn on 26th August 2019, by local angler Steve Pannell (Forres AA) and reported to river superintendent, Sean Maclean, who collected the fish. The fish was male, length 53cm weight 0.7kg (1.5lb) and to our knowledge this is the first pink salmon found on the Findhorn. Fisheries Management Scotland report that so far in 2019 Pink salmon have been reported from a number of river systems in Scotland including the Tweed, Esk, Dee, Deveron, Spey, Kyle of Sutherland, Polla, Awe and Irvine.
