In association with the Deveron, Bogie & Isla Rivers Charitable Trust, Anne Woodcock of FishPal is holding a Ladies Day on June 1 at the Mountblairy beat on the River Deveron. The day is designed for women who would like to try salmon fishing for the first time or who would like to improve their fishing. Casting instructor Paul Little (AAPGAI Master in the double-handed rod) will lead the day.

Mountblairy holds a very special place in the annals of Scottish and UK salmon fishing history as it was where in October 1924 the British record for a salmon caught on fly was established. The angler was the diminutive Mrs Clementina ‘Tiny’ Morison. The fish was weighed the day after its capture; it tipped the scales at 61 lb, inevitably having lost some weight in the meantime.

The cost is £45 per person including fishing, tuition and lunch. The ticket price is being donated to the Deveron Bogie and Isla Rivers Trust to fund conservation initiatives.
