Our short film, “Contactless”, is currently in production and will be available soon. This film will demonstrate simple steps to help ensure the survival of wild Atlantic salmon and support their conservation. In the meantime, explore the key principles of best practice catch and release to give every fish the best chance of survival:

Keep It Cool

Salmon struggle in warmer water; fish on cooler days or early mornings to reduce stress.

Keep Hands Off

Wherever possible, avoid handling fish directly to prevent infection. With the right tools, in most cases it’s easy to unhook without touching the fi sh.

Keep It Under

Fish have a better chance of survival when they stay submerged throughout the release.

Keep It Clean

Always check, clean, and dry your gear to prevent spreading disease, parasites, and invasive species.

By making these small changes, anglers can achieve survival rates approaching 100% and continue contributing to the sustainability of our wild fish populations.

Stay tuned for the release of our film in February 2025, which will guide you through these practices step by step.
