Missing Salmon Project- Findhorn Smolt Tagging Report for 2019 now available. Measuring salmon smolts at the Findhorn Rotary Screw Trap One hundred salmon smolts and a sea trout smolt were tagged and released on the Findhorn during April/May 2019 and their downstream progress through the lower river, Findhorn Bay and then out into the Moray Firth was monitored using an array of acoustic receivers. Of the 100 tagged salmon smolts, 53 smolts were estimated to have reached the downstream receivers and 40 smolts reached the Spey Bay array. The confirmed survival rate were 53% and 40% respectively.
