Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS) are a big threat to the native wildlife of Scotland. Many of these invasive species can spread via our rivers and water courses and threaten the iconic wildlife and landscapes of our rivers and lochs. Aquatic plants and animals can unwittingly be transported by equipment, such as kayaks and fishing gear but there are some simple safeguards that can be employed. The "Check, Clean, Dry" campaign is aimed at educating regular water users and visitors with a view to protect our delicate natural water environment.
