The Aquaculture Industry Environmental Fund has allocated NOK11.6 million to various initiatives in 57 rivers across Norway. The Aquaculture Industry Environmental Fund has now completed three rounds of funding since its inception in the spring of 2011. There are two grant rounds per year.
A total of 26 projects have received funds for fish and monitoring measures. In addition, funds were allocated to fish trap and radio tagging to identify escaped farmed fish in the rivers. It has also allocated funds for training and for advances into the use of genetics to track escapees.
